Family Fun and Tummy Troubles

First of all, happy Easter and happy Saint Patrick's Day! Two great holidays that we enjoyed very much. Obviously one is more important than the other, but we like Easter too.

To start out with, we went and visited my family, the Burgers, for Easter. The weather there was actually quite nice this time of year. My nephew is getting so grown up now it is unbelievable. We saw him just two months ago, but he seems so much older already.

Yogurl made the traditional lamb cake as you can see in her sisters' blogs as well. I thought it turned out delicous. My mom made her traditional bunny cake, which is not pictured because it got run over by a truck crossing the road from the kitchen to the dining room. It still tasted great!

Church was great on Easter, too. I got to hear both my parents speak, and they didn't do anything to embarrass me, so that was quite the unusual treat.

After we came home from Easter, Yogurl's parents came to visit us. They were here most of the week, and they stayed at an inn right on the beach. It was really nice. We spent most of our time hanging out at their place because it was more exciting than our place.

While they were here we ate tons of yummy food and spent a lot of time on the beach, though not in the cold water so much. We also went to the San Diego temple and did an endowment session there. Then they asked us to do some sealings, which was a really great experience. What a wonderful place.

We also went to the Gemological Institute of America Headquarters. Their worldwide headquarters are just a few streets down from us. They had some beautiful exhibits there, and the tour was really informative, though I think our tour guide was a little confused about certain details. This giant crystal behind Yogurl is nearly a million carats of quartz crystal. When I asked Yogurl if she would like earrings like that she replied, "Don't be silly! I like big dangly earrings!" What's a guy to do?

Anyway, we had a great time seeing so much family this week, even though Yogurl came down with a stomach bug which she passed on to me. Maybe it was the other way around. At any rate, we are home sick from church right now, but we are feeling better than yesterday.
