Fun times in Ohio

The kids and I headed down to see the butterfly exhibit at Krohn's Conservatory with my best friend growing up.  It was fun to get together and Sabrina really enjoyed seeing the butterflies.
My mom has the best dress up box, so while we were there, we took advantage of it and made an afternoon of dressing up.  Here I am modeling a wig that my mother bought back in the 1970s to try out short hair before chopping her own locks.  Pretty chic!  And Sabrina loved all the fancy princess attire and jewelry my mom has collected over the years.
Here's Sabrina enjoying the rides at The Cone on a daddy-daughter date.  She earned a free ice cream from the local library summer reading program and was happy to go on a fun outing with her favorite guy.

Just a random photo of Clark doing what he does best, looking cute and making all the girls go crazy!
We were fortunate enough to be in Ohio for my mom's birthday.  I don't think birthdays get much better than having family around.
And check out these cool glasses that are actually a straw.  My mom colored some water for Sabrina and set up a mirror on the table for her to watch herself.  She drained a huge glass of water because she was so fascinated watching the water run through the glasses.  Don't grandparents have the coolest toys?

Fun things in Dallas so far...

So here are some of the fun things we've seen/done here in Dallas so far.  One evening while eating dinner, we looked out and there was this squirrel lying perfectly still on our patio fence.  He stayed there for a good minute, just watching us and relaxing.  Definitely one of the stranger things I have ever seen a squirrel do.

Sabrina has loved riding her tricycle around our very flat street and Clark loves hitching a ride on her handlebars.
Our new ward had a fun Primary activity on Saturday in honor of Pioneer Day.  The kids decorated their bikes and rode in a parade around the parking lot.  After some other outdoor activities and a three-legged race, in which Sabrina made a new friend, they went inside for pioneer stories and homemade ice cream.  One of the sisters made bonnets for the girls to keep, so cool!

 Sabrina celebrating her chalk drawings!

When we moved in, Sabrina helped put together her bed with Manburger.  She was so excited to use the hex key and help out.
One evening, we drove the mile from our house to the Dallas temple and walked around the grounds.  It sure was hot out, but we enjoyed seeing the lovely building and flowers.

Our new home in Texas

Now that things have settled down a bit here in Dallas, we are finally getting up some requested photos of our new home.   We love the townhome community we are in; safe, affordable, and easy access to all the normal shops and freeways to get to other parts of town.   It is hot down here, but we adapted pretty quickly to how we schedule our day.  We try to go out early to the park and then spend the rest of the morning indoors or at the pool and the same applies for the afternoon before dinner.  We are super blessed to have a pool right in our neighborhood and access to a nice kid pool and splash pad at the local YMCA.
