The biggest squirrel ever!!!

Just today, Manburger and I were taking a Sunday drive to check out unexplored neighborhoods of Cville and chanced upon this crazy yard decoration. I say Awesome! Way better than cement geese or half buried tires.
Last week I tried our sweet girl's hair in pigtails for the first time ever! I can't believe she actually has enough hair to get into rubberbands. It's been a long road since going out with her cousin and a woman looking at the two called her cousin "a blonde baby" and our baby "a bald baby." She still has kind of a mullet, but it does this cute curl thing in the back, so it doesn't look too silly.
And here is Sabrina on her "horsie" or maybe just living up to one part of her namesake.
And I just had to include this picture b/c here are two things Manburger and I love about where we live....our daughter and the beautiful outdoors.

Sunday Field Trip

Since we don't have church until the afternoon and last Sunday was so beautiful, Manburger and I were eager to get out of the house in the morning and take a field trip to check out the little towns along the backwoods drives near our place. We also wanted our sweet daughter to grace us with a nap during the drive since we are in church during her normal nap time. Driving around here is so fun because there are so many fabulous estates and farms plus beautiful forests and hills. We took our drive up to Crozet and stopped at one of their parks where they had a lovely lake (it even has its own beach) and quite a few fishermen out enjoying the sunny weather. I could happily stay in Virginia for many years, what a beautiful place!
For dinner on Sunday, I pulled out the big guns and made something new and super decadent, spaghetti alla carbonara. It was perfection, but not something to eat more than once a quarter...with the bacon, eggs, parmesan cheese, pasta, olive oil. Truly every food vice in one dish. Yum!
I've been trying a lot harder to make a weekly menu and stick to it. You can see I make hard work look so glamorous! All the hard work has paid off in lower grocery bills and less frequent trips to the store, which, if you have a little one, you know that's a major blessing.
