Yogurl versus The Barber

Hey everybody! Manburger here bringing you this weeks news. I'll try to go in chronological order, but it may quickly become stream of consciousness, so bear with me. At the start of the week I had duty, which means I sat around at the barracks and did nothing for a whole day. The only interesting part was when a Marine who was on restriction started talking back to the SDO (Squadron Duty Officer). That lead to a fairly good chewing-out. I also got to eat at the chowhall, which is a fun experience. The most amazing part about duty this time, though, was my Assistant Duty. I asked him where he was from, and he said "Oh a little town you probably haven't heard of called West Chester." Pretty amazing huh? He didn't recognize Yogurl's name, but that's not too big a surprise since he was a Firebird, not a Thunderhawk.
Wednesday was a big day for Yogurl. She went to do some volunteer work downtown in the morning. She is working with some sort of a housing commission thing with ordinances and I don't know, maybe she will talk about it later. Then, in the afternoon, she went and got her hairs cut. She was worried about getting a crummy hair stylist again, but everything turned out just fine. The girl who cut her hair turned out to be an inactive member. She was really nice, Yogurl says. I think she'll probably have her cut her hair again next time. This week, I've been getting into juicing a lot again. I love juicing all sorts of stuff. Yogurl gets annoyed sometimes I think, because she likes to eat all the yummy stuff that I juice. Oh well. At least she is happy that I get more vegetables in me this way. I don't know if we've mentioned this before, but I have been cutting my own hair for the last two or three months. I'm starting to get the hang of it. A few times I messed up and had to just shave it all off and then start again the next week. I just figured that when you have to pay for a haircut every week, it starts to cost a lot. So instead I invest my tuppence in the bank, to be specific in the Dawes, Tomes, Mousely, Grubbs, Fidelity Fiduciary Bank! Yogurl and I just watched Mary Poppins, by the way.
Yogurl's class went well today. She taught about seeking the Kingdom of God first, and about not seeking the praise of men. I went in and was a guest speaker, which was fun. I talked about how I was aloser before my mission, but now am only a little below average. Tonight, Yogurl and I are going to have Tinfoil dinners. It was my idea. Kinda. We'll let you know how they turn out. Yogurl also wanted this picture of our new quilt cover included. That's it for now.

Anniversary!

Manburger and I just had our first anniversary! Hooray! To celebrate we went out to eat at a fancy- schmancy Italian restaurant that was okay, but not as good as the prices suggested. (Manburger's addition: Yogurl and I once ate at Wolfgang Puck's and I paid too much for a plate of ravioli which only had like 5 ravioli on it. I told her this time that if the waiter brought me 4 ravioli shells for the main course, I was going to headbutt him. He got lucky... there were only 3.) Oh well, I guess experience is how you find out about which places are good and which ones aren't. This picture is me by the flowers that Manburger got me and you'll notice that I have a lovely strand of black pearls around my neck, compliments of Manburger. A girl sure can get used to this...

Here's a picture of our anniversary cake that I made. Chocolate with cream cheese frosting. Needless to say, it didn't last too long.

The Monday after our anniversary we had off for President's Day so Manburger and I went down to San Diego to check out a few places. We stopped at IKEA and bought a comforter cover so our bed would look a little more fun. They have so much stuff in that store. Good heavens! After IKEA, we drove to the Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center and looked around. Wasn't too much to see, but we did watch a neat video about the Battalion's trek across the west. Of course, on the day that we're downtown and could've walked around and looked at sights all day, it was raining like mad. There was river running down the street in front of the visitor's center. You can see the sister missionary dashing across the road, trying not to get wet.

Oh, strange things have happened at our house. Manburger was eating a can of green beans the other week and found a weird black plastic piece inside. He called the company about it and guess what they sent him as compensation...3 free can of vegetables coupons and a $5 check. Wow, hardly made it worth their while, didn't they? Oh well, atleast it wasn't a mouse or something really gross. On a good note, Manburger received his Control Tower Operator License. Now he can man all the positions in the tower, just not simultaneously of course. He also enrolled for some college classes at Embry-Riddle on base. He'll have that bachelor's before you know it. I guess that means that he's going to be a lot busier than he has been. It doesn't seem fair, but I guess after having 1 year of newlywed bliss, it's time to enter the real world.
Sorry that this blog doesn't have pics of the wonderful Manburger. We'll try to make it less one-sided next time. The last picture is what I wore to church today. Like the leggings or not, I figured, hey I'm only 21, I might as well enjoy the freedom to wear trendy clothes while I can. Till next time!
