The Princess of Color Starts School!

Our little Sabrina went to real school for the first time today! She loved dressing up in her school uniform. She had no problem being dropped off at school and was so excited to get down to some learning and meeting new people. We all handled it pretty well, too. Clark wanted to stay at school with her, and he had a bit of a rough morning afterwards, but he is doing fine now.
I wanted this picture to look like she was walking down the stairs, but instead it kind of looks like she just has one leg. They are both still there, I assure you.
There they go, on the long walk to school. If I had taken the picture from the other side of the street you would see the school. The playground for the school is just 3 houses away from us. Hooray for short walks to school! By the way I am not going with them because I have hand foot and mouth disease. I thought that spreading it around the elementary school might be a bad idea.
When she isn't being forced to wear a school uniform, this is how "The Princess of Color" prefers to dress. That was what she was calling herself on this particular day, anyway.
Her brother was not as into being dressed up like this as she was.

Birthdays!

Hooray for my beautiful wife turning 6! Or maybe those candles are like roman numerals - different colors mean different years. Maybe we could call them Roman Candles? Anyway, happy birthday to my Sweetheart!
We went to the Mesquite Rodeo for her birthday. Yes, this was her idea.
 Front row seats!
Sabrina went to a bouncy house place on her birthday and met some friends there. It wasn't a birthday party, just friends hanging out and having fun. I don't like the way this kid in the red shirt is putting his arm around my daughter. I have met his parents and they are very nice people, so I will trust that he is a good kid.

So many birthday presents. This bike turned out to be too big, so we took it back and exchanged it. She picked the bike she wanted and it was cheaper than this one. Hooray for thrifty daughters!
Happy Birthday Sabrina!

Park City Vacation

We had a family reunion up in Park City in Early July. I didn't take a ton of pictures, but hopefully the pictures here show some of the fun we had. There was lots of running around outside in the beautiful weather. In the heat of the day there were water games nearly every day and plenty of fun activities to keep the kids busy. We had so much fun that Laura already is talking about the next time we all get together again.
I should mention that my sister-in-law's best friend just happened to be in the area and took wonderful family photos for us. How great!
A not so professional family photo.
We turned the hot tub off the first day we were there so the kids could play in it without it being too hot. It was still plenty warm, but it was a fun mini pool for the kids.

Running from kids with spray bottles.
How come my wife got to defend herself?
This is up in the mountains near Payson. It wasn't too far of a hike, and this little grotto waterfall area was really cool. The picture doesn't do it justice because of where the sun was at the time.
Clark was excited to get into the waterfall.
I tried to take a panoramic photo of the view from here, but it only got half of the view. Off to the left you can see into the valley also, but my camera couldn't get the whole view. I have to admit that after living in Dallas for a year I really appreciated Utah more than I ever thought I would. That doesn't mean I will ever move there though.
