Korean BBQ and Oat Cereal, Yum!

Yesterday was a big first for the bambina...her first solids in the form of Korean BBQ. Just kidding! The Korean BBQ was for Manburger and I, bambina had oat cereal. She didn't really seem that interested in it and got more on her face than in her mouth, having not mastered the art of eating off a spoon. We tried some applesauce today and the reaction was about the same...okay guys, what is this stuff, where's my milk?
For lunch yesterday Manburger suggested we get Korean. He had heard from a coworker of a place called Aria that was reported to have awesome Korean food. Well, this place did not disappoint. Manburger had the bulgogi (which is amazing barbequed beef) and I had the bibimbap (which sounds ridiculous, but tastes delicious). Before they brought out our entrees, we each received a bowl of miso soup and an assortment of Korean salads (shown with Manburger) like kimchi and seaweed salad. Yummy! Sorry to all those Panda-Express and Chinese buffet lovers, but why bother when you could have authentic Korean food or Thai or Vietnamese or Italian or Mexican or, well, basically anything else?

6 months old

Manburger and I feel so blessed to have this gorgeous baby in our lives for 6 months already (not counting the time she was growing in my belly). What a privilege and gift to be a parent! I never understood what intense love and joy a parent feels for their child until she came along, so thank you to both of our sets of parents and for all the loving care and time and emotional ups and downs you put into raising us. We plan on giving just as much of that love into raising our little one.

Bathing Beauty

Not too much has been happening around our house lately, but our little girl is 6 months old tomorrow! She loves her bath time and we love carrying her from the bathtub to our room to dry her off in her bundle of towels.
We recently went to visit Manburger's family and our baby got some Mimi and Papa time in, as well as visiting with her cousins and aunt and uncle. Here she is with two things she loves, Papa and her giraffe teether.

Sabrina's First Carrot

Sabrina was sitting on my lap staring at my food, so I thought I would let her have a nibble of a baby carrot. She thought it was hilarious! She started laughing so hard she was snorting. By time we got the camera, her laughing had died down quite a bit, but we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Sorry that I am giggling like Winnie the Pooh the whole time.

Sabrina turns 2!

Well, she's 2 in Korea. Here she is still only 5 months old. She has started to show great interest in her feet. For New Year's eve we had fondue! It didn't turn out as smooth as we wanted. The chocolate fondue was so chocolaty that I thought I was going to die. It was delicious, though. Just so you know, I have already broken several of my resolutions for the new year. Let's hope that Yogurl and all of you have better success.

Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas everybody! We know that we are a little late with this post, but we still have the Christmas spirit with us (only 356 days until Christmas after all). As you may know, we spent Christmas in Ohio with Yogurl's family this year. We had a lot of fun and ate too much delicious food. One of my favorite parts was seeing the little kids play. Lydia was such a good example for her younger brother and cousin. And the 2 year olds were the best! Their "sharing" was quite entertaining, but it was so touching when they were getting along. Other highlights included Sabrina meeting Santa Claus for the first time. Fortunately she was well behaved, almost like she knew him...
Of course, the most entertaining thing that happened was a very special world premiere Oma and Opa cow dance.
