Wrapping up our Texas time

Our little guy is getting stronger and stronger!  We are still working on getting him to crawl on his hands and knees, but maybe because his low-crawl method is so effective, he sees no need to change.  Plus, it's good training if someday he decides to join the Marines; add a pack and a rifle and he's good to go.  We've been having him stand by himself and he's getting pretty good at it.  I can't believe how quickly time has flown by with our super guy..he'll be 9 months old next week.
This week was our last full one in Houston....sigh.   We are excited to get back to law school and finish that chapter of life, but man did we love it here this summer.  Houston is just awesome!  So much to do, so many great places to visit, so much amazing food to eat, and such nice people.  Sabrina and I made one last trip to the Children's Museum this week and she had to fit in driving the ambulance again.  She loves that thing!
Yesterday, we all went to the Houston Zoo together.  It was plenty warm, but we got there shortly after opening and spent most of the time in the shade or the indoor exhibits.  They even had this incredibly docile dinosaur for the kids to pet.  Sabrina really enjoyed giving him a snack of mulch, yum!

Happy 4th of July!

Here are the kids in their 4th of July outfits.

We went to a small parade on the 4th that involved nothing but a firetruck and neighborhood residents walking down the street behind it. It was fun and a great chance to see a potential area to live next year.
Last week Sabrina insisted on helping me wash the dishes. It was very sweet of her. Here comes the real question - Did the camera distort my head or is it really that big?
Yesterday we were going to have fried chicken and waffles as well as catfish and grits for breakfast, but the line was super long so we had Indian breakfast instead. I got a saag paneer omelette which wasn't as great as I was hoping. The empty plate on the right was the brioche which was just too good to survive long enough to have a picture taken.  Yogurl loved her breakfast thali platter and generously shared some of all the dishes with me.  She insists we'll have to go back for dinner.  One great thing about Houston is all the great places to eat; there just isn't enough time in the summer for them all.
We visited the Woodlands and took a ride on a boat. They have a boat which will take you on the waterways through the downtown area. It was nice, and Sabrina really enjoyed riding on a boat.
On our way home from the Woodlands we thought we would stop by and see the temple. It turns out that the temple was not as on-the-way-home from where we were as we hoped, but it was well worth the detour.

Videos For Family

I called this post "Videos For Family" not because only family can watch it, but rather because I think that only family will want to watch it. Just cute little Clark moving and playing with his daddy. Nothing spectacular to outside parties, but the most spectacular things of all to his parents.

Children's Museum

The kids and I have been enjoying Houston's Children's Museum this summer.  They have a lot of cool things to look at and it is a wonderful air-conditioned haven on a hot day.  The kids and I went in the middle of this past week and Sabrina had so much fun, we decided to take Manburger with us on Saturday.  They have a neat section called the "Tot Spot" which is only for kids 35 months and under.  Good thing we are here this summer, b/c Sabrina will soon be too old to go in that area.  Both kids had a great time and Clark really enjoyed being able to play in an area geared for his age.  He loved the ball pit (don't worry they switch out the toys frequently).  What fun!
